Editing a Page in Drupal

  • Once your page is created, you’ll be taken to the screen for editing and adding content under the “View” tab.
  • The menu at the top of the page will let you view the page as it appears on the site, edit the page directly, and unpublish/publish the page.
    • Editing the page with this menu is only done on sites that were imported from the old CMS.
    • By default, all pages are published automatically. If the page is not ready to be published, the unpublish button will remove it from the web.
  • Click the “Customize this Page” button in the bottom toolbar.
  • The Gear icon on the top of each content window will access the editor for that content.
  • The trashcan icon on the top of each content window will delete that content.
  • The paintbrush icon at the top of each column will allow you change the format of the column to default, tabs, or accordion.
    • By default, all content items in the column are visible at the same time.
    • In tabs, each content item will get a tab at the top of the column. Selecting a tab will display the content.
    • In accordion, each content item will get an expandable title bar. Selecting a bar will open the content item, and shrink the other content items.
  • The Plus icon will add new content to the column.
  • By default, your page will have a two-column layout with a sidebar on the left and main content area on the right.
  • To add content to the Main Column, click the plus sign (+) at the top right of the page.
  • Choose a widget appropriate for the type of content you’d like to add from the menu on the left of the “Add content to Main Column” window.
  • Hovering over each widget will give a brief description and sample image.
  • Add all desired widgets/content to your page.
  • Click the “Save” button in the bottom toolbar to update the page.
