Creating a New Page in Drupal

  • Click “Content” (left side of top black toolbar).
  • Click “+Add content.”
  • The content window will allow you to add Title and Body content through a WYSIWYG (“What You See Is What You Get”) editor.
  • Enter a Title for the page.
  • The Body section should be left blank (content will be added through the page customizer).
  • On existing sites, the body section contains information that was imported from the old CMS (Content Management System).
  • Under Department Audience, select which department website to add your new page to.
  • At the bottom, you’ll find page options. Select “Menu settings” and enter the menu link title, description, parent item, and weight.
    • Menu Link Title is the exact text that will display on the parent page.
    • Description is the hover-over text that will pop up for the link.
    • Parent Item is the page that will contain the link.
    • Weight is used to control the order of links. Smaller weights are displayed before larger weights.
  • Click “Save” to create the page.
