Monday, Dec. 3, 12:30-1:45 pm, Happenings Room, UCEN
The College of Arts & Sciences is pleased to host C. Edward Watson, Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President for Quality, Advocacy, and LEAP Initiatives, Office of Quality, Curriculum, and Assessment, Association of American Colleges and Universities. All faculty are welcome to attend.
This session will connect what we empirically know about how students learn to general education reform in the United States. In addition to case studies, which provide exemplars of general education models, we will explore pedagogies and high impact practices that serve to help students achieve the learning outcomes of general education, including specific approaches that foster integrative learning and synthesis. The will include an examination of the notion of reflection and how to operationalize it within the context of general education.
