Lunch with an Entrepreneur

The Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurial Speaker Series provides students with the opportunity to listen and interact with a presentation with an entrepreneur. Lunch with an entrepreneur is during the winter semester and 5-6 large and small entrepreneurs come to UM-Flint to discuss their success, regrets, insights and more with students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members. 

Winter 2020 speakers will be announced in January 2020 so please check back then for dates/times of the upcoming events.

Join the University of Michigan-Flint School of Management and the Hagerman Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in welcoming Jonathan Mannion for an informative and engaging entrepreneur focused presentation on multimedia/photography. Mannion is a photographer who focuses his camera on musicians like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and DJ Khaled. 

Mannion is a featured speaker for the Critical Issues Forum (CIF) for 2019-2020, titled Truth. Mannion will be presenting again in the evening on Sept. 19th at 6:30 PM at the UM-Flint Theatre. Learn more about the CIF at https://www.umflint.edu/cif. The CIF event is free and open to the public. We kindly ask that students, alumni, faculty, and staff to attend our noon event. 

April 16, 2019 - Nicholas Kristock

Join the Hagerman Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation for the last Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurial Speaker Series with Nicholas Kristock, an athlete, Leader and compassionate entrepreneur. Come get lunch and listen to a short presentation. We will also have a Q&A session and time for networking after lunch. OPEN TO ALL! Bio:

Nicholas Kristock lives his life by a code: Build. Empower. Serve.

He is a former international soccer player turned serial entrepreneur and servant leader, and he has found his fit in the social impact world by building businesses that solve problems.

In 2015, Nicholas founded Fleece & Thank You (still serves as the Executive Director), an innovative 501(c)3 organization that provides psychosocial support and programs to children in the hospital.

In 2016, he founded the startup company Empathy 313, which makes technology solutions for social impact organizations, in 2018, he founded Crate of Good, a social impact subscription box, and in 2019 he founded Flockets.com, an apparel site that funds microloans for families with a child battling cancer.

Something interesting about Nicholas is that he has lived homeless for a week in Sydney, Australia as a member of the startup team for Orange Sky Laundry, the world’s first mobile laundry service for the homeless.

Bio:

Her presentation will focus on implementing programs using the psychology of happiness. Her programs encourage people to say yes to choices, including career choices, that lead them to their deepest desires and true contentment. All students are welcomed to attend!
