Fun Fact: I was born in London, England
Favorite Quote: "There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul, than the way it treats its children." –Nelson Mandela
Talk to me about: Your hopes and dreams, what it's like to be a student at UM-Flint, getting involved on campus, leadership, women's issues and becoming a student affairs professional. Anything really...
Thoughts on leadership: For me, leadership is not about position or power, it is about transformation. It is about transforming the human experience, promoting change for the benefit of others, and inspiring individuals to fulfill their true potential. Are we leaving things better than they were when we arrived?
Administrative Assistant Senior
Fun Fact: Chewing gum or eating hard candy while taking a test helps with retention and helps relieve test anxiety.
Favorite Quote: "The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails.” – John Maxwell
Come sail with me.
Talk to be about: FREE Scantrons and Blue Books (paid for by Student Government); Information on Student Organizations; Updates, Contacts, Forms, Student Organizations’ Deposits and Withdrawals, Purchase Orders, Pcard purchases; and excellent Campus Customer Service provided by our SIL Department.
Thoughts on leadership: I believe that every student can be successful and do their very best. I provide encouragement and candy because I really do believe that you can go a little further when someone encourages you. I agree with John Quincy Adams:
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”–John Quincy Adams
Fun Fact: I am a book worm and an iTunes addict♥♥♥
Favorite Quote: “Life is like a camera. Just focus on what's important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don't turn out just take another shot.” -Unknown
Talk to be about: All your hopes and dreams! Anything that has to do with getting involved on campus, Mgagement, organizational representation, digital media, Stitch and Doctor Who.
Thoughts on leadership: “The challenge of leadership is to be strong but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not a bully; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly." Jim Rohn
fraternity and sorority life coordinator
Fun Fact: I'm a vegetarian
Favorite Quote: "I can never be safe; I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I just set a higher goal. That’s how I’ve gotten to where I am." - Beyoncé
Talk to be about: You can talk to me about anything having to do with Fraternity and Sorority Life. Some of these topics include how to join a fraternity or sorority, annual Fraternity and Sorority events, and the councils that make up Greek life here at UofM-Flint.
Thoughts on leadership: I believe anyone is capable of being an outstanding leader. I think that leadership is built by devolving a strong set of values and living by them every day. Getting involved in organizations during my college experience has lead me to amazing leadership opportunities. Without Greek life and other organizations on campus, I would not be the leader I am today.
Fun Fact: I love thunderstorms and sometimes watch weather maps obsessively.
Favorite Quote: “If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.” –J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Talk to be about: SIL administrative support, student organizations, Mgagement and Orgsync, SIL activities and events, the SIL website, and more.
Thoughts on leadership: IThe best leaders are those who know themselves and focus on making the best use of their particular talents. Someone (not Einstein) once said, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Figure out what makes you special and embrace it!
