September 4 – September 10, 2004

09/06/04 Monday A subject was caught on surveillance tape entering the unlocked vehicle of an University employee and stealing property contained in this vehicle. The suspect was located and a confession obtained. The suspect was lodged in the Genesee County jail on a parole violation and was also charged with larceny from a motor vehicle.

09/07/04 Tuesday A man had his wallet containing credit cards, cash and ID stolen from his unlocked locker while he took a shower in the men's locker room in the Recreation Center .

09/07/04 Tuesday A local high school student snuck up behind a UM-Flint international student near the Williams S. White building and grabbed her buttocks. He then ran off. The incident was caught on surveillance tape. A subject looking like the suspect was seen loitering in this same area the next day. He was questioned and admitted he “bumped” into the student. He denied he grabbed her buttocks. The case has been turned over to the Prosecutor's office pending criminal charges.

09/07/04 Tuesday Hit and run property damage was reported to a car parked in Lot G near the Murchie Science Building .

09/07/04 Tuesday A vagrant with behavior problems was asked to leave the University Pavilion. He refused and then resisted arrest. One of the arresting officers was slightly injured in the scuffle. The jail at that time refused to lodge and the suspect was released pending warrant authorization. He was trespassed from University property.

09/09/04 Thursday The suspect described above returned to the University Pavilion. He was arrested for trespass. The Genesee County jail accepted the suspect on this occasion. A felony charge of resisting and assaulting an officer was obtained on the suspect. A trespass charge will also be sought.

09/09/04 Thursday A subject, by his odd behavior, interrupted the proceedings of a meeting being conducted in the University Pavilion. He was contacted and his name checked for warrants. The suspect was arrested on numerous arrest warrants he had for his arrest. Public Safety will be seeking charges of disorderly conduct and failure to appear for a court appearance.

09/10/04 Friday A student reported the theft of a license plate from her car while it was parked in the Mill St. parking ramp.
