Weekly Summary
April 16– April 22, 2005

04/16/05 A suspect traveling in his car at a high rate of speed, almost rear ended a Public Safety officer stopped at a red light near Rally's at Saginaw and Fifth Ave. The officer was forced to take evasive action. The suspect swerved at the last second and drove through the red light. The suspect drove over a couple of curbs and eventually pulled into a space in front of his apartment. The suspect was arrested for reckless driving, driving while his license is suspended and for possession of marijuana along with the multiple warrants he had for his arrest. Additional warrants for the above charges will be sought.

04/16/05 An adult and juvenile male were caught as they were attempting to force open a locked exterior door to the Murchie Science building at 3:45 a.m. They were both intoxicated and in possession of alcohol. They were arrested for attempting to break in to the building, as well as minor in possession of alcohol.

04/18/05 Two parking meters located in the lot in front of the William S. White building were pried open and quarters stolen. This incident happened during the same time frame multiple parking meters had been broken into along Saginaw Street . A review of video surveillance is under way.

04/20/05 Graffiti was scratched into the paint of a bathroom stall in the William S. White building.

04/20/05 A man was seen walking through campus carrying what was reported to be a silver handgun. Public Safety located the man near the Flint Public Library. He was stopped and it was learned he was in possession of a cigarette lighter in the shape of a derringer and also a black realistic looking toy gun. He was arrested on outstanding criminal arrest warrants and turned over to the City of Flint Police .
