August 27th – September 2nd, 2005
08/31/05 A subject previously trespassed was found looking in and around cars near the William S. White building. He was warned about looking in the cars and arrested on outstanding criminal arrest warrants.
08/31/05 A subject wanted for fleeing and eluding one of our Public Safety officers was detained by his probation officer until DPS officers were able to respond and arrest the subject. He was arraigned on the felony warrant.
08/31/05 A woman was begging students and staff in the parking lot near the William S. White building. She provided a false name. She was trespassed and released pending a check of her fingerprints. The check revealed suspect’s true name and the fact she was a wanted person. An arrest warrant will be requested under her real name.
09/02/05 A stolen car was found abandoned on University property. Public Safety assisted Hudsonville Police by impounding the car and processing the car for finger prints. Numerous finger prints were recovered. A suspect was identified and questioned. He admitted to the theft of this vehicle and several others. No vehicles were taken from UM-Flint property. The information from this case has been forwarded to the other jurisdictions involved for their handling.
09/02/05 A student had his cell phone stolen. A suspect was identified and the telephone was returned. An arrest warrant was obtained on the suspect for receiving and concealing stolen property under $200.
