Weekly Summary
March 12 – March 18, 2005

03/15/05 Public Safety assisted Flint Police with a Domestic Violence incident off campus. A woman with a battered face pointed to her fleeing husband and stated he had just beaten her and he was in possession of a gun. The suspect was pursued by Flint P.D. and a hand gun was located in the suspect’s car. Flint police will be handling this complaint.

03/15/05 A subject previously trespassed from University property returned to the Williams S. White building. The subject’s community mental health case worker was contacted and notified of the subject’s continued trespassing violations.

03/15/05 Public Safety was called to investigate a suspicious person loading boxes into his car in a William S. White building parking lot. The subject was located and it was determined he was soliciting donations from professor for textbooks. It was discovered that there were no criminal circumstances involved.

03/15/05 Two larcenies from two different students were reported from French Hall on the third floor. One student had her purse containing cash, credit cards and a cell phone stolen, and the second student had her cell phone stolen. These incidents are under investigation.

03/15/05 A Recreation Center user had his wallet stolen from his locker in the men’s locker room. The wallet contained cash and credit cards.

03/16/05 A group of Carmen Ainsworth High School students were questioned after they were caught on video tape trying to open a door to a Government vehicle in the North Bank parking ramp. It was discovered that their car had broken down and they were looking for jumper cables. Assistance was provided to them to get them on their way.

03/17/05 Damage was reported to a parking area gate arm in the Mill Street parking ramp. The gate was broken in half.

03/18/05 A male and female student was reported in the men’s shower together in the Recreation Center. The Recreation Center is considering corrective actions.

03/18/05 A man reported that he had been robbed and pointed out the three suspects as they were walking on Campus property near the William S. White building. Public Safety officers stopped all three suspects. It was later learned that the “victim” had just learned he had AIDS and was attempting to purchase rock cocaine from the suspects. The suspects snatched his money from his hands and were walking away. Most of the money had already been returned by the suspects. It was learned the theft happened off campus. The case was turned over to Flint PD for further investigation.
