Funding Sources for Graduate Students
Who can apply?
Students interested in any form of research may apply. You must be a currently-enrolled, part-time or full-time graduate student with at least 12 completed credit hours and a minimum GPA of 2.5.
You can work alone or in a large group, in a traditional or inter-disciplinary field, in a professor’s lab or in a studio – it’s up to you. Some funds have been designated to support travel to both present a paper and attend a professional meeting. In general, student research funds provide support for new and promising research endeavors, encourage individual or group scholarly work, and recognize ambitious student research agendas.
How much funding can I get?
Individuals and groups of students may apply for up to $1,000 per project per academic year. Awards will not affect financial aid.
When should I apply?
Students are encouraged to apply at any time during the year. Availability of funds are limited and awards are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Office of Research must receive your completed application at least one month prior to the commencement of your project or attendance at a conference.
