Research Poster Printing
To meet the research needs of the campus community, the Office of Research has a format printer and laminator available to produce high quality posters for presentation. We encourage any faculty, staff, or students involved in research-related activities to take advantage of this opportunity.

How much do printing services cost?
For UM-Flint faculty, staff, or students involved in research-related activities (conferences, class work, etc.), poster printing is free of charge.
What is the maximum poster size you can produce?
Our format printer can produce prints that are up to 42 x 56 inches; or roughly 3.5 x 4.5 feet. Our laminator, however, can only laminate prints less than 38 inches across.
What computer programs are best to create posters?
Though several imaging programs work well with our printer, PowerPoint is most ideal and most frequently used.
Do you design posters?
Though we can create and design posters, we encourage the researcher to design their own posters. That way, they maintain the "ownership" of their work (images, fonts, colors, content, etc.). For assistance, templates for a 32 x 40 inch poster (standard poster size) and a 36 x 48 poster are available for download. Guidelines for how to create a research poster can also be downloaded by clicking here.
How do I get the process moving along?
Start the poster printing process by doing the following:
- Complete and submit a Poster Printing Application [WORD] [PDF]
- *Optional* You can set up an appointment to meet with Andre Louis to discuss your poster. Sample prints are available for viewing both ONLINE and in the Office of Research.
- Submit the poster file to Andre Louis by email, or by bringing an electronic version of it to the Office of Research (flash drive, zip drive, or CD). Files should be submitted for print no less than two days before the print is needed.
