Grant Writing Assistance
Grant Writing Tutorial
Grant writing is often a tedious job for faculty, staff, and students who are looking to apply for external funding. With that in mind, the Office of Research and Christine Black (Proposal Writing Specialist from the School of Nursing at U of M-Ann Arbor) have put together an online tutorial which offers an assortment of information on developing grant proposals for external funding projects at UM-Flint.
The tutorial has a self-enrollment feature, so users are required to add themselves to the roster. In order to access the grant writing course:
- Go to the Blackboard site at http://bb.umflint.edu
- Log in to Blackboard (*if you are unable to log in to Blackboard or if you need to create an account, contact Nicolas Gaspar in the Office of Extended Learning at ngaspar@umflint.edu).
- Click on the yellow “Organizations” tab near the top of the page.
- Type “Office of Research” in the Organization Search engine on the left side of the screen, and click “Go” to search. On the next page, you’ll see the "Office of Research External Funding Resources" organization. On the far right, click on the “Enroll” button and following the prompts.
Grant Writing Workshop
For faculty, staff, and students interested in the live, hands-on training, the Office of Research and Christine Black will be hosting a grant writing workshop on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 12 - 5pm. The event will be held in the Riverview Room on the 3rd floor of the University Center (next to Halo Burger). Christine will cover a range of topic areas also found in the tutorial.
Lunch will be provided.
The registration for the workshop is now closed. If you are still interested in attending, contact Sue Koehler at sukoehle@umflint.edu to check for seating availability.
