For your convenience, the criteria and guidelines for the various campus-wide awards, as well as a list of recent recipients, are included on this website. 

We have wonderful faculty who are worthy of these awards.  Please give careful thought to colleagues in your own and in other units who deserve this recognition.  Your support is essential to assemble a strong pool of candidates!

Due to award timelines and/or funding constraints, all awards may not be available each year.  Notification of available awards will be announced when the call for nominations is made.  For all awards, a letter of nomination is due by January 26, 2009 with supporting documents due by March 9, 2009.  All materials should be sent to the Chair of the Scholarships, Awards and Special Events Committee, c/o the Office of the Provost, 229 University Pavilion.  Please assist in generating a strong pool of nominees to ensure that the awards will be given – our faculty deserve no less.   

The Michigan Distinguished Professor of the Year Award is given by the Presidents Council to recognize a full professor who displays a special commitment to undergraduate education.  All documentation must be submitted by January 9, 2009.  Click here for more details.

Due to a generous gift from Regent Olivia P. Maynard and Olof Karlstrom, University Outreach and Academic Affairs will grant one $1500 faculty stipend per academic year for excellence in civic engagement.  Nominations should be submitted by January 26, 2009 with the required supporting documents due by March 9, 2009.  Click here for more details.
