The central focus of the UM-Flint Department of Theatre & Dance is to provide our students with a challenging educational environment and richly diverse learning experiences. We strive to provide students opportunities to work alongside professionals both on stage and off. We are committed to providing our students with the necessary tools, both artistic and personal, to meet the demands of an ever-evolving world and profession.

Through intellectual inquiry, imaginative daring, intensive training, social awareness and practical experience, our students stand ready to a place of responsibility in the community at large and excel as courageous artists, flexible workers, and compassionate citizens.

We value collaboration, responsiblity, balance, empathy and service.
