Welcome to UM-Flint Housing & Residential Life
We are delighted you are considering the University of Michigan-Flint housing! Living on campus enhances your college experience and makes it more memorable, more enjoyable, and more successful. Housing and Residential Life provides a welcoming atmosphere that is student-focused and supportive. Residents enjoy the convenience of being close to classes, food options, and downtown cultural events. The amenities make our residence halls the perfect "home-away-from-home," and we look forward to welcoming you to campus!
The Office of Housing and Residential Life seeks to provide a safe space for our community to express diversity and enjoy a culture of inclusiveness in which students are encouraged to achieve their academic and social potential at an urban, student-centered university. Student residents are expected to actively craft their community through responsible communication, decision making, and behavior that considers both individual and collective needs. Through our process of engagement, residents emerge as civically minded citizens who are prepared to lead and positively impact their communities and beyond.
The learning communities will focus on social justice and leadership. Both are collaborations between UM-Flint’s Housing and Residence Life, the Division of Student Affairs, and related academic programs like Social Work.
