Summer Vocal Academy of Music
Continuing a thirty-year tradition, the University of Michigan-Flint Summer Academy offers instruction in music and fine arts to middle and high school students. Emphasis is placed on vocal music, for students who are interested in developing their singing skills and musical potential. Academy students experience a curriculum of classes designed to nurture their abilities, while expanding and deepening their understanding of music as an art. Students learn, create, and perform on stage under the direction of experienced University of Michigan-Flint Department of Music professors, alumni, and guest faculty. The Academy offers two consecutive camps, Junior Academy and Senior Academy, each closing with a public concert featuring all students.
