Choices. There isn’t just one degree that will prepare you for veterinary school. Our Pre-Veterinary Medicine studentsoften select Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry as their major, so you have the opportunity to cater to your interests!
Honors. Challenge yourself to go one step further – apply for our Honors Program ! Our Pre-Med students who have chosen to pursue the honors program have had a 100% acceptance rate into professional schools, including veterinary schools.
Established Plan. Pre-Veterinary Medicine students benefit from an established path to ensure the best preparation possible for entry to veterinary school. Students also benefit from personal guidance from their advisor to ensure that they are selecting the appropriate coursework.
Passion. Do what you love! Working with animals is a very rewarding career field and allows you to make a difference not only for the animals you help, but for the people involved with them as well. From the smallest birds to the largest horses, animals have become a very important part of our society and so has the need for their medical care.
Leadership. Get involved outside of the classroom. The University of Michigan–Flint boasts an active student life with an organization to match up with any of your interests. Meet friends and study buddies with the Pre-Vet Wildlife Club and add a great activity for your résumé for veterinary school!
