Why study Physics at the University of Michigan-Flint?
Choices. Both physics programs offered prepare students to excel in graduate studies or the work force as they choose, but give you the opportunity to tailor your physics degree to your own interests and career goals:
Physics - Bachelor of Arts: This program is designed to meet the needs of students who want to specialize in a particular area. You can take additional coursework in engineering, experimental physics, theoretical physics, chemical physics, biophysics, applied mathematics, medicine and many others!
Physics - Bachelor of Science: This program focuses entirely on physics, with an emphasis on computers. Students will have the opportunity to take additional courses complementary to their physics core and complete an independent research project.

Hands On. Don’t just learn by reading – learn by doing! Small class sizes give you one-on-one interaction with your professors and get you into the laboratory much sooner than on larger campuses.
Get Involved! Go beyond lectures and textbooks and put yourself out there. The University of Michigan – Flint has a ton of great student organizations available. Boost your resume and meet new study partners through the Society for Physics Students or any other one of our clubs!
Travel. Experience the world! Spend a semester studying abroad. Take advantage of our great Study Abroad program and find the right international experience to fit your interests!
