Monday’s, beginning January 8, we will take participants through a brief mindfulness activity, ranging from a few minutes to a half hour, to start your week out right. Every Tuesday, beginning January 9, a quote or question will be posted on the board within the LGBTQ Center. Come in, respond to the prompt right on the board, and have a discussion with those present. You Belong Here: Mapping Identity, Navigating Intersections, Finding Your Fit

Writers, people interested in writing, and people who have never written at all: this is for you!

Are you tired of hearing stories about people that do not look, sound, or act like you? If no one is telling your story, learn to tell it yourself. This free workshop/group is for writers of all levels, students, faculty, and staff, to explore how their identities affect how they see themselves and how they move through the world. Through writing prompts, activities, and discussion, this group will allow you to explore your identities and find belonging through writing and also other creative expression like art, music, etc. Experience not required. Feel free to bring your lunch.

The Vagina Monologues-20th Anniversary

The Vagina Monologues is a play by award winning playwright Eve Ensler, founder of V-Day, a global activist movement to stop violence
against women and girls, cisgender and transgender alike, as well as femme people of all genders. Performed by UM-Flint students, faculty,
staff, and local community members, The Vagina Monologues is intended to break down the barriers of secrecy and shame surrounding
both the use of the word "vagina" and the violence perpetrated against those who are feminine. Co-sponsored by the Department of Women
and Gender Studies, the Department of Theater and dance, the Ellen Bommarito LGBTQ Center, and the Women’s Educational Center.

transgender activist and professional biologist, shares her powerful experiences and observations—both pre- and post-transition—to reveal
the ways in which fear, suspicion, and dismissiveness toward femininity shape our societal attitudes toward trans women, as well as gender

International Transgender Day of Visibility

Each year on March 31, the world observes Transgender Day of Visibility to raise awareness about transgender people. It is a day to
celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people, while still spotlighting the poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces.
Join us March 28 for lunch and a panel presentation to celebrate the transgender community and raise awareness of discrimination faced by
transgender people worldwide.

transgender, queer/questioning, asexual and individuals of all gender and sexual identities as well as their straight allies.
