The preferred method of payment is by check payable to the University of Michigan-Flint. Cash payments can be made (before taking the exam) to the UM-Flint Cashier at the University Pavilion. ITS can also charge back to a University Department upon authorization**.
*An exam is any one of the following: Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online. If an exam is taken and a 75% or better grade is not achieved, you will be required to pay the testing fee again when retaking the exam.
**Please submit a completed authorization form before your exam begins.
Test Format
The exams are performance-based, which means that the test software tasks measure real-world skills and abilities in a live simulation. These tasks require you, the test-taker, to demonstrate evidence of your knowledge and skills. Questions are displayed in an instruction window and the test is done on a simulated version of the application. The exams are timed and are 40 minutes in length and consist of 45 questions. The instruction window contains a clock showing the time remaining in the test and the number of the question you're on.Tips and Strategies for Success
