Kathrine Colpaert serves at the Global Outreach Coordinator at the University of Michigan-Flint. She previously held the position as English Instructor in the English Language Program and has taught internationally for a year in France and Saudi Arabia and for shorter terms in China and Senegal. She holds her Bachelor's degree in French from Michigan State University and Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from St. Cloud State University. She is currently studying in UM-Flint's NetPlus MBA program.

Kathrine's role includes serving as a coordinator for international marketing and recruitment efforts in the International Center as well as the Global Outreach Ambassadors pilot program. She also participates in other global outreach initiatives on campus including workshops and other programming. She serves as the liason for international alumni engagement and hopes to be considered a point-of-contact for anyone who would like to connect or collaborate with the International Center.

Her professional affiliations include NAFSA (organization for international educators), TESOL, and MiTESOL, which was hosted at UM-Flint in 2016. Kathrine presented with her colleagues on Civic Engagement and with a fellow instructor on Speech Acts and won the "Best of Affiliates" presentation award. Her most memorable professional experience was teaching a short-term program, English for Health Professionals, where she created the curriculum, course content, and programming.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing (including the lost art of letter writing), traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with her husband and family. Several projects she's working on include writing a memoir about the year she lived in Riyadh and training in medical interpreting (French-English).
