Bachelor of Science in Health Education
Program Requirements*
The B.S. in Health Education is designed for those who are interested in community health education as well as credentialed health professionals who are preparing to train others in their own specialty.
A. General Education Program
ENG 111-112 (6), Fine Arts (3), Humanities (9), Social Sciences (9), Natural Sciences (8), Cultural and Values/Ethics Selection (6), additional electives to complete 50 credits in general education.
B. Foundations (18 credits).
HCR 300, 304, 362, 368, 377; PHS 315.
C. Health Education Core (21 credits).
HCR 203, 204, 379, 380, 384, 385, and 386
D. Electives in Health Care (6 credits).
To be selected with advisor.
E. Internship or Co-op. HCR 390 or 392 (3-6 credit hours).
*Effective Fall 2008 - A new prefix of AGE has replaced the prefix HCR for Aging related courses; A new prefix of PHS has replaced the prefix HCR for Public Health Sciences related courses. The course content and program requirements have not changed.
