King Chávez Parks Future Faculty Fellowship available
A limited number of King Chávez Parks Future Faculty Fellowship awards will be available for University of Michigan – Flint graduate students for the 2008-09 academic year. The deadline for filing a fellowship application for the 2008-09 academic year is 5:00 p.m. on December 1, 2008.
New graduate program in Theatre & Community approved
The Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies has approved the University of Michigan-Flint to being offering a Theatre & Community track in its Master of Liberal Studies program beginning in Fall 2008.
The Department of Theatre and Dance and the MLS program faculty will offer the new concentration within the existing MLS program. What is intended in the program is a combination of creating a sense of community through the arts and including local communities in that process. There is strong evidence that a demand exists within the UM-Flint service region for this special graduate program in theatre. This demand is clearly delineated by the support of materials from area theatres, schools, museums, and recent UM-Flint Alumni who live in the Greater Flint Metropolitan area.
More information will be posted to www.umflint.edu/liberalstudies in the near future. If you would like to be placed on a list of prospective students to be notified when more information becomes available, please email gp@umflint.edu and provide your name, address, and email address; ask to be placed on the Theatre & Community list.
