Health Education (MS) - Degree Requirements

Minimum of 39 Credits

The core curriculum consists of 33 credit hours, which includes 21 credits in the Health Education Foundations category and 12 credits in Methods. In addition to the core curriculum, students are required to select 3 credits of electives, and three credits in either a thesis, or applied project. An internship is required for those with no health education experience. Up to six graduate credits from an accredited university may be transferred and applied to the program.

     HED 545: Health Communication
     HED 546: Evaluation of Health Education and Promotion
     HED 547: Biostatistics

C. Electives/Special Topics (3 credits) (1 course from the following)
    
HCR 505: Health Policy
     HCR 527: Personnel Selection and Evaluation
     HED 584: Special Topics in Health Education

D. Internship (3 to 6 credits)
    
HED 590: Internship
     The internship is not required of those currently in professional health education positions

E. Thesis Preparation Seminar (1 credit)
