Master of Science in Biology (MS)
The Master of Science in Biology provides an advanced degree for students who have undergraduate degrees in biology or a related life science. The program is offered for working biologists in various professions including educators teaching science at the secondary level.
The primary goals of the program are to offer broad, expanded training, as well as detailed, advanced training in biology and a complete research experience for post-baccalaureate students.
Two program options are offered:
- Thesis Option – A thesis (6 credits) and additional courses to complete 30 total credits
- Non-thesis Option – Non-thesis research (2 credits) and additional courses to complete 32 total credits
Both options require completion of a core curriculum consisting of BIO 501, BIO 502, and BIO 503.
The program accommodates the part-time student with courses offered at convenient times to meet the demanding schedule of the working professional.
