Admissions Checklist for Freshmen
OK. You’ve decided that the University of Michigan-Flint is the place for you. Excellent! The next step is to apply. Below you can find an easy checklist (Printer-friendly version) of what is required for consideration of your application to the University of Michigan-Flint.
- Visit our campus: Before you apply, we would like to strongly encourage you to visit our campus and see for yourself firsthand if the University of Michigan-Flint is a good fit for you.
- Apply: Submit a completed application. Apply online or download a printable version.
- Application Fee: Mail in your $30 application fee.
- Counselor Recommendation Form: Freshman students need to complete the Counselor Recommendation Form, obtain appropriate signatures, and return it to the Office of Admissions.
- ACT or SAT Test Scores: High school students should schedule and complete necessary ACT or SAT testing. Testing should be completed approximately one year prior to entry term.
- Official Transcripts: Request that official transcripts from all previous schools be sent to the University of Michigan-Flint Office of Admissions.
- Supporting Documents: Submit all supportiing documents with your application. This includes essays, résumés and letters of recommendation.
- Request for Fee Waiver: If you wish to request a waiver of the application fee for reasons of financial hardship, download and complete the Request for Fee Waiver form and return it to the Office of Admissions.
- You will be notified of decision within 2-4 weeks of application submission and receipt of all required documentation.
